Biennale Arte 2022 - The milk of dreams - Preview

The exhibition in the Central Pavilion at Giardini

The Biennale Arte in Venice will take place from April 23rd until November 27th 2022 and I had the opportunity to preview this new edition before the official opening.

The suggestion I feel to give is to take your time, to dedicate a full day to the pavilions of the Giardini, and another full day to the Arsenale.

The plot of the exhibition is certainly interesting because it focuses in particular on three thematic areas: the representation of bodies and their metamorphoses; the relationship between individuals and technologies; the bonds between bodies and the Earth.

In the two main areas of the exhibition, at Giardini and inside the Arsenale of Venice, both located in the district of Castello, but also in various other exhibitions all over Venice, the artists invited by curator Cecilia Alemani will try to answer these questions:

How is the definition of human changing? What are the differences that separate the vegetable, the animal, the human and the non-human? What are our responsibilities towards our fellowmen, other life forms and the planet we inhabit? And what would life be like without us?

The exhibition is developed according to a coherent sequence, with some works that stand out above the others, for the originality of the idea and the accuracy of the details.

It is not an exhibition to be seen in an hurry, but it is necessary to stop and read the various concepts in order to fully understand what each artist had in mind.

The entrance fee is €25, and it includes the exhibitions at Giardini and inside the Arsenale. There is no fee for all the other collateral events throughout Venice.
