Mosaics with instant film

Using instant photographic film, Marc De Tollenaere manipulates each photo with an unique process… separating then fragmenting, to ultimately create a different image.

Thank to this technique, iconic places such as the Ca’d’Oro in Venice become an Indian palace, a wave that refracts on the beach, or a village on stilts. The houses of Istanbul are now skyscrapers of Hong Kong, and a monk in Angkor Wat is now the men of fire.

This gives the viewer the opportunity to see through the artist’s eyes and feel the artist’s emotions, creating something fascinating and eternal.

Each one of these mosaic is an unique and unrepeatable piece.

The mosaics have been exhibited in the Liassidi Palace in Venice, in the prestigious Mind magazine.com
