Portfolio

I have been WORKing ON A BOOK ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE GONDOLA, WHICH IS NOW AT THE THIRD EDITION, FOR about FOUR YEARS, AND SOME OTHER PICTURES YOU WILL SEE IN THIS SECTION COME FROM TRAVELS AND from WORKSHOPS I HELD ALL OVER THE WORLD.

IN VENICE I AM NOW ON A LONG-TERM PROJECT ABOUT VENETIANS INSIDE THEIR HOUSES, AND THAT GIVES ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER HIDDEN GEMS, STORIES AND ANECDOTES ABOUT THE CITy where I LIVE.

There is no place in the world that moved me more than Kolkata, in India. Have a look at my pictures and you will understand why. In Kolkata every corner is a picture and the danger here is to be too obvious….

The medieval sites of the wonderful valley of Kathmandu where life remained unchanged for centuries. A photographic journey that respects the pace of a country that preserves the most ancient Buddhist and Hindu tradition.

The big Portuguese women preparing the festival of São João, before giving their offers, while an irrepressible desire to dance burns inside them, in an irresistible party that mixes sacred and profane traditions.

Since 1498 the Greek Orthodox Community has its own space in Venice, not far from San Marco’s Square. I had the privilege to photograph some of the most important ceremonies in the last 5 years.

I started to walk around Venice with my Leica in the hand 20 years ago. I am still following this trial in the narrow streets of Venice, meeting eyes, voices, stories and mysteries hidden behind the scraped walls.

The imperative is to propose only authentic experiences, true stories, and the amazement of a particular light. Here you can find a selection of these pictures taken, as the title says: “Inside Venetians’ houses”.
